A notable organic wine that harmoniously blends traditional kosher winemaking practices with the distinctive terroir of Argentina’s Uco Valley.

Tasting Notes

The Alavida Malbec is vibrant and dry, showcasing black fruit and floral notes typical of a quality Malbec from Uco Valley region.

On the nose, it presents aromas of plum, raspberry, dark chocolate, grilled mushroom, green peppercorn, earth, ash, and coffee. The palate offers flavors of dried red fruit, ripe strawberry, and red currant, with bright acidity and well-integrated tannins, leading to a balanced and lengthy finish.

Food Pairings
  • Grilled Meats: The wine’s structure complements the rich flavors of grilled lamb chops seasoned with rosemary and garlic.

  • Poultry: Roasted chicken or duck, especially when prepared with herbs, harmonizes with the wine’s fruit-forward profile.

  • Cheeses: Aged cheeses, such as sharp cheddar or gouda, enhance the wine’s depth and complexity.

For optimal enjoyment, serve the 2024 Alavida Kosher Malbec at 16-18°C (60-65°F).

Technical Vineyard Information
  • Location: The vineyards are situated in the Uco Valley at the foot of the Andes Mountains, approximately 1,200 meters (4,000 feet) above sea level.

  • Soil Composition: The soil is primarily gravel and sand, offering excellent drainage and contributing to the wine’s mineral complexity.

  • Farming Practices: Domaine Bousquet are fully committed to organic farming, avoiding synthetic pesticides and fertilizers to promote natural vine health and environmental sustainability.

  • Harvest: Grapes are manually harvested between the end of March and the beginning of April, ensuring optimal ripeness and quality.

  • Winemaking Process
    • Fermentation: Traditional fermentation methods are employed using selected yeast at a maximum temperature of 27°C (80.6°F) for 12 days in stainless steel tanks.
    • Aging: To preserve the purity of the fruit, 90% of the juice is aged in contact with used oak, while 10% is aged with new oak.
